The blessing of separating light from darkness

Imagine if the gifts of Abel and Cain are mixed before they are presented to God. Abel is presenting some of his firstborns in a show of deep respect and consideration toward God. Cain, in contradiction, is performing a religious ritual of presenting some of his fruits of the land. Abel showed respect as a child of God and also showed fear of the lord as a slave of the lord, while Cain had none of it but ritual. In this setting it is a sin to present the respectful and faithful offering of Abel mixed with the inconsiderate and faithless offering of Cain. If both offerings are presented as one, what is God going to do? Be happy and unhappy at the same time? As devils are separated from children of light, when God says let there be light, it is good that the offerings of Abel and Cain are separated before they are presented before God. In this setting, God can determine whose staff will grow branches and leaves while whose staff will remain dry. Imagine if the staff used by Aaron is th...

What is needed is our death, not us

The most serious fetter of most faithful is that we want God of our preference rather than being faithful to God’s preference. There are things that we love and prefer - like our identity, nation, culture, ideology, wealth, power, knowledge, and soon – then we want God who affirms our identity, nation, culture, ideology, desires for power, knowledge, and money, and soon. What God wanted, however, is faithful who affirm him and live to glorify him.   God is happy with nobody except his perfect self, as everything else is imperfect. His children, therefore, do often need six wings. Two wings to diligently work for God 24/7. Besides, they need equal effort to cover their eye when they look into God as they cannot handle his brain power to see to it. That is why it is always right to say you know better lord and to have the first wisdom, which is fear of God that will make you accept what God says even when it makes no sense. Then after, they also need equal power of two wings t...

Look into my eye and tell me what you see.

A few years after the completion of the Tigray and Ethiopian war, I went to church, and a brother was preaching that day. His preaching was dark and angry, and he never stops to point fingers at the “enemy side” by using the bible as a reference. Every biblical verse is explained by atrocities of the war against the Tigray people, and what the enemies of Tigray did. It was really sad to listen to it because I could open the radio to listen to that gibberish which poisons the mind. Besides, I was as angry as he was a few months ago but the bible has a way to heal you, and God has a way to heal you.   I had all reason to take sides because "kill them all" was the online chant dominating the online and broadcasting media. But I should have taken the side of God rather than political parties. I should have taken the hand of God than people. I should have taken the shield of God than the shield of political parties. Finally, I did learn I was wrong. When I was healed, it was unc...
