Tomorrow is not yesterday
A certain man came to Jesus and asked him to make his brother share their inheritance. Yet, Jesus answered him “Who made me your judge?” If there is a wise and just judge, it would be Jesus. Yet, because you are good at something, does mean you have to do it. A good pool player has to see not only how can s/he hit the necessary ball with the white ball, but also where the white ball ends; as where the white ball ends will determine: if the next move of the opponent against you is easy or hard.
Before
the Russian and Ukraine war, there was a fistfight in the parliament of Ukraine
between pro-Russian and pro-West politicians. Politicians acting like little
schoolboys is often common in this age, but there was one eye-catching
exception in the Ukrainian parliament of that day. While many politicians are
fistfighting, like little school boys, one huge member of the parliament is
watching the fistfight from a distance. What is interesting is he used to be
the heavyweight boxing champion of the world. Because he is good at fistfights
does not mean, however, he has to join in their stupidity.
Jesus
came for a higher purpose and judging inheritance does not serve that purpose.
So, Jesus was wise enough to stay out of it. The boxer who became a politician
has political ideas and ambitions, which cannot be addressed by a fistfight. If
the solution was a fistfight, he could stay a boxer and it was wise of him to
stay out of such stupidity, therefore.
Imagine
a father who was absent from home for a couple of years and who found his
children lagging in school. The father being a good teacher and a good father
invests most of his time in the development of his kids since his return. Then
a neighbor comes and tells him, the color of the house is fading and the house
needs a paint job. Is it rational for the father to divert his time from his
children to decorate a wall, while exam time is near? There may be time to
focus on the paint job but it is better to have a developed brain in a poorly
decorated house than a shallow head in a well-decorated house.
When
the faithful of Jerusalem were sharing everything, the disciples found out that
there was a food distribution problem. Yet they don’t want to focus on it,
because they have bigger issues that they need to focus on. Serving the kingdom
of God was more important than addressing the food problem. The problem is not
small, but they have a higher calling than food. It is a job for someone else
but not for them.
I
think shameful ways are going on in churches and what is happening does not
honor God, does not honor us, and it is a death trap for those who are
promoting it. I think my focus should be on cleaning this shame by writing this
post. How can a single man clean this shame? I do not know, I am a solder, not
a general. What I know is there is an enemy, and I have a gun in my hand, the
target in my sight, a magazine full of bullets, and what I have to do is boom …
boom … boom. The issue of logistics, planning, and soon is not my problem.
To
focus on my main point, we are purchased by the blood of Jesus and we are
honored as high as the blood of Jesus. If we are highly valued beings in sight
of the lord, should we dream and talk 24/7 about material things? Should we
learn and talk about wealth, health, and prosperity 24/7? Is it honorable to
start with spirit and to end up with flesh? It is a shameful reality that I
want to cure, as we are more important than this garbage that is being sold to
us as the word of God.
Lord
did not become our lord by splitting the Red Sea or by terrorizing Egypt, he
died for us. We are purchased for price and we don’t belong to ourselves. So,
the lord deserves better worship and better children than us. We are the
children of the lord and the lord has no other human children, so we have to be
better. Even idol worshipers are not as lowly and as earthly as some churches
are. And, Jesus does not deserve this.
Even
those kids who focus on such wrong “worship” of the lord, do not deserve this.
At a young age, we were young and stupid seeking a bottle of beer. They were
smart as they sought the lord. The problem is they don’t know God well enough
to serve him well. The Pharisees of Jerusalem do try to clean the legs of
insects but they don’t know they were swallowing a camel too. This happens
because they don’t know God. The same thing is happening with those lost kids,
they try to clean the legs of insects; but as they don’t know Jesus, they end
up trying to swallow a camel. Both did make the assembly of lord den of thieves
and both did hang Jesus on the cross as a result. As the first one suffered for
it, I am sure some of those kids are going to suffer for it; because the lord
does not allow destruction of his temple in vain. We are his temple, his
faithful.
I
think none of us deserve this. We the sinners because the lord is merciful; the
kids because they seek the lord at a young age; the Lord because he purchased
us by his blood and flesh; and the holy faithful because they are honored by
the blood of the lord to be dishonored by earthly desires of those lost kids. I
am trying to redirect our attention toward the lord so the road of the lord can
be straight. For this purpose what is low has to rise, what is high has to get
low, what is crocked has to be straight, the heart of fathers has to be toward
children, the heart of the sinful has to be toward the wisdom of the Holy and
all should seek the lord. This is the perfume that I think the lord deserves
and the respect that the lord deserves in coming back with power to earth. I think
you need to be prepared for his kingdom and I think the Lord deserves better
than us.
This
is about purchasing eternal food for free from Jesus Christ; it is not about
buying temporary food for price. This is not about sharing the splendor and
comfort of Herod, either Herod the Elder or Herod the Younger. This is about
the Kingdom of God.
