The limit of a student is his teacher

 

The good book, the Bible, says that our spiritual father is the Heavenly Father, and our teacher and leader is the lord Jesus Christ. Yes, we have brothers and sisters who serve as overwatchers but they are not the Heavenly Father to be our spiritual fathers. They are just good brothers and sisters who serve under the Heavenly Father, as his eye and mouth, for the commonwealth of the assembly of the lord. They are tools of God who controls them to do his will rather than their will. As a hummer cannot say “I make a table” and a sword cannot say “I won a battle” but only the man who operates them can say so, those who serve as over watchers cannot say they father anyone. Those fools, with all due respect, cannot even manage their family by themselves if you know how hard it is to manage a family, dears. By the grace of God which works in them, however, God is watching the assembly through them. God is making the work, and they are in apprenticeship training as visible representatives of the invisible God. This is the only fact there is. Why? Because Jesus said so and the word of God cannot be made void by our theology or tradition. Even the great Paul cannot overrule Jesus. Who is Paul, what is the worth of Paul, and what value is Paul if he contradicts Jesus? If Jesus said so it is the king of kings and lord of lords saying so, and there is no other second opinion needed then after. There is no authority or name, which can overrule the commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ, even not the great Paul. That is why every part of the bible, including the teaching of Paul, has to fit right to make a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ come through. Otherwise, either we are reading a weed of the devil from non-biblical sources or we are not reading the bible right.   

 

We have brothers and sisters who serve as leaders but they are not Jesus to be our leaders. We don’t call them leaders, therefore, but brothers and sisters. If they lead us right, it is because the right one, the lord Jesus Christ, is working through them. Those blind people are as blind as we are and if they lead us by themselves they are definitely leading us to the cliff. If they lead us toward the right track, however, it is not them. It is the Holy Spirit that works through them leading us. If you need another proof, however, we have to know this is a word-for-word commandment of the lord. Let us, therefore, not contradict the word of God by our tradition.

 

We have brothers and sisters who serve as teachers too. They, however, are not our teachers, because they are not Jesus Christ. Jesus teaches through them, but the Holy Spirit is making the speech while they are mere tools. My computer cannot say it wrote this post, though I used the computer to write it. Those who serve under the lord are first prepared by the lord for the service like a computer has to be built right before it can serve right. Their preparation is by the grace of God for the work at hand. Then those people are graced to assemblies to serve as tools of the lord or computers of the lord. Lord uses them to watch over, lead, teach, and soon. They are hummer and the sword of the lord. Those who serve as teachers, therefore, are not teaching but Jesus is teaching through them. Sometimes, those fools, with all due respect, don’t even know what they are saying as God is making the speech. Only when they are making biblical mistakes, because they are not completely dead yet, you can be sure they are speaking not God. That is why our teacher is the Lord Jesus Christ only and it is wrong to name anyone a teacher, except Jesus. We all are brothers and sisters.

 

Dears, a man has two children, one younger and one older. He told the younger boy to go to work in the field and he said “no”, but he changed his heart to do what the father ordered. The older son, however, said “yes father” but did not go to the farm. Which one is more obedient? The younger son, dears. Prostitutes, sinners, tax collectors, and criminals, when they change heart, they change for real. The older children, who are the good children, are often nothing but Pharisees. They say “yes lord” first, but do whatever they desire then after. That is why sinners, criminals, prostitutes, and tax collectors will join the kingdom of heaven before the Pharisees. The sinners, when they look back to their sinful life, see nothing but shame; and it is easy, therefore, for them to do whatever their father says so in the Bible. The Pharisees can see the good they did by partially obeying their Father, and that will destroy them from having full obedience to the will of the heavenly Father. They are not in a position to completely deny themselves, as they cannot deny the damnation cloth that they hold dear. While the sinner cries for the grace of the lord that will change him to the image of the lord by killing him, because nothing is honorable in him, they feel pride in their holiness and cannot be transformed all in all into the image of Jesus. Your damnation cloth is worthless, dears, so grow toward the lord, because he is the wisdom of the lord and the very image of the Heavenly Father’s glory.  

  

Those who obey the lord will have a heavenly limit on their faith, knowledge, love, service, and obedience. That limit is Jesus Christ. When they make every move and every step in their long march toward the lord, they know they are not Jesus but they will go closer and closer toward the light of God, which is the lord Jesus Christ. Their mind is targeted toward being like Jesus and that will guide all their behavior. Such a man can be earthly and will sin because his flesh is not completely dead, but his heart is not on this earth. When he does earthly things and sins, he does not look for biblical justification for it, he will be sorry that he is not as Jesus is and will hope to be a better person over time.

 

When such a person does good things and holy things, he will also remember that he is not doing all that is expected from him and will be humble. Jesus said give all your wealth to the poor and follow me, but we are not Peter, John, and Paul or the founders of the true faith in Horn Africa to be so. We are earthly and we are not perfect as a result. Even though we are imperfect, we, however, don’t look for a biblical verse to hide ourselves behind it, like the Pharisees of the temple. We will just pray for the forgiveness of the lord as we are not as perfect as our lord Jesus Christ is. This is the right attitude in front of the lord. So when we give 10% for the temple of the lord and 10 birr for the poor in the street, we will not be jumping in pride of ignorance, but we will be sorry because we should have done better. Such an attitude will make us humble in the sight of the lord, and it is easy for God to look over our imperfections then after. We are the sinners who do not dare to look up to the lord, but not the Pharisees who build their pride and holiness on a bubble of stupidity to be cast to eternal hell as a result.

 

Jesus said if you love me, keep my commandments. John said those who belong to the lord should walk in his footsteps. This impossible is possible through a spiritual growth process, and grace is there to give us the needed time for a spiritual growth process. When even our behavior and life is not as perfect as Jesus, if we look toward him to imitate him with spiritual growth process, we will read bible right, we will change our behavior step by step toward him, and it is easy to work with God, as God can work with us. Let us say Jesus is going to North and I am going to South, can we go together even if Jesus carries me on his shoulder. Either, I have to cry against God all the way, or God has to leave me behind, because we are not going into one direction. If I am going in the same direction with Jesus Christ, however, it would be better if I have spiritual maturity to walk side by side with him, following his lead. Even if I am spiritually immature but still want to go in the same direction that Jesus is taking me, however, he still could carry me some time, give me rest some time, give me red bull for energy some time, buy me horse or donkey to carry me some time, and I will be singing “the lord is almighty” all the way than crying about it 24/7.       

 

If we are going to work with God, it is ok to be imperfect as nobody is Jesus except Jesus, but we have to know the only road to salvation is Jesus, and the final destination of our road is to be like Jesus. Our today, therefore, has to be more Jesus than our tomorrow. Dears, who are the best in us? Those who follow all holiness by faith, and who sell everything they have to buy the most expensive Jewel of all, the kingdom of heaven. Paul could be a well-respected Jew with high religious and social honor because he was ready-made for that. But Paul gave it all to live in poverty, suffering, torture, torment, and social isolation from his people so he could know the lord to imitate him. I tell you the truth dears that he is the best of the best among us. Those who build the faith in Horn Africa following the example of Jesus and Paul are the giants among us dears, not us. So, let us preach the giants of the lord, the lord being the giant of all giants, rather than preaching the abortion that we are.

 

Why? Because they are more like Jesus than us. We give some time to the lord, they give all their time to the lord. We want Jesus who sustains us, they were ready to die for Jesus. We want our retirement fund to be built by God, while their retirement fund was their faith. They give it all for the lord, not to hide in the monastery so they can be bureaucrats of human organization doing work of the flesh, but to teach the gospel to those in darkness by being salt and light of the lord. We should idealize them not us. Why? First, we will grow toward them in a way of growing to Jesus. Second, when we do small things for the lord, our attitude will be right. Even saying “I am a worthless slave who did his task is” too much to say to us because we are doing less than our task. This will build our humility now and will grow us right into the future. God can work with us with this kind of attitude. We are on the same road but very childish and immature to walk side by side with the lord. Lord will carry us, give us rest time, buy us energy drinks, buy us cookies and coke for encouragement, and buy us donkey and horse until we mature up and we have to mature up over time as far as to take the cross from the shoulder of the lord, as Simon did. Our limit will be our teacher, the Lord Jesus Christ.

    

The Pharisees (the older good brothers), however, have human teachers, human fathers, and human leaders. As blind, therefore, they will lead others blind toward the cliff. When they see one great servant of the lord, who serves in teaching the word or showing miracles of the Holy Spirit, rather than standing on his shoulder to reach higher toward the lord, they take him/her as a teacher and leader to imitate him/her as perfection. The servant is the grace of God to the faithful so they can benefit from what God sends through him/her, and so they can move closer toward Jesus with better knowledge and faith. The purpose of God is to serve them through his servant that he prepares for them, so they can see higher than the servant by standing on his shoulder and so they can move higher than the servant overtime to imitate Jesus. Many servants of the protestant moment and original elders of the faith like Paul, Peter, John, and James (the great), were our ladder to Jesus to make us see Jesus better but not Jesus to be our perfection.

 

That is why any teaching served by man will be judged in comparison to Jesus and will be understood in comparison to Jesus. The Bible is the bible but must create an image of Jesus as the perfection of God if it is rightly understood. What is outside of the bible, however, is only from God if it is consistent with the Bible and through the Bible with Jesus. Jesus is the measuring road of truth because he is the truth, wisdom of God, and logos of God. Anything preached or lived by anyone will be kept if it is consistent with Jesus, and will be brushed away as a weed of the devil, otherwise.

 

God may grow his servants in some lines, so they can guide us in that line, but they are not Jesus to be grown in all dimensions and even to the limit of Jesus in their comparative advantage. That is why, we should get the grace of God through the servants of the lord, but we need to look much higher to heaven, to Jesus, to guide our life in the long run. We are not slaves of Peter, and Paul let alone the less valuable servants of this age, we are slaves of Jesus. That is why we have to grow toward our master, not toward his servants. In words of Paul, let me ask you “Who is Paul?” and “Did he die for you?”

  

The theological problems of our age and the problems of many theological schools are that they are teaching human ways in the image of human servants rather than preparing people for knowledge of the lord. Any servant of the lord is a servant but the son is the son. Theological schools should build people with knowledge of the lord and different bricks could be helpful in this building. Every brick should be evaluated first in terms of its fitness as a brick of the lord, and every brick should be put in its proper place so it can build the image of the lord at last. Our knowledge of the Bible has to be connected one to another to make the picture of the lord, as the wisdom of heaven and perfection of God is the lord Jesus Christ.   

 

Theological schools are for biblical knowledge and the bible is about Jesus. We have to build people who serve as stepping stones and shoulders to stand on to move people much closer and closer to the lord. The choices we have, as those who serve by teaching, are not easy. Either we are on the road which leads to salvation or we are against God. Either we are disciples of the lord or the Pharisees who nailed the lord on the cross. Either way, hell, and heaven are by education, dears. When we see soldiers of the lord in theological schools fighting the good fight and rebuilding the faith back, with deeper impact in a short time, and noticing the poor state of our faith and the potential contribution of many theological schools toward such destruction, we need to know this is not the right time to be wrong. There were many wrong Pharisees over the ages, but some were wrong Pharisees at the wrong time and had the damnation of nailing Jesus to the cross. If we expect the major work of God and we know God is working toward that we have to know this is the wrong time to be wrong. Don’t be foolish, as today is not yesterday.      

 

The core problem of many theological ideas is related to what they idealize as perfection to build their graduates toward that. Take the real Pharisees of the Jewish people. They were looking for sword-welding king who would honor them and make them governors of the world by defeating all their enemies and conquering the entire world. Jesus, however, has a different plan. Pharisees of this age have similar dreams of this earth, but I tell you the truth that the coming of the Holy Spirit is not to rebuild Pharisees and their dream but to restart the work of Paul, Peter, and John from where it stopped. It starts by taking the assembly out of the world to her proper place so she could be ready for the second coming of the lord. In the Mountain of Olives they chain Jesus and then after he ascended to heaven on the same Mountain. He will land, therefore, in the same mountain to crush his enemies. If by sign in the sky, the assembly becomes earthly, by the sign in the sky she is going back to her proper identity.    

 

The schools can build disciples of the lord or Pharisees of our age. One will die for the lord, and the other will kill disciples of the lord in the name of God. That is why the perfection that we teach as the ideal form, in our theological schools, is important. Are we teaching people to imitate American Churches, European Churches, African Churches, or Jesus? What is the fruit of human churches? Where do they end up? Is that perfection? Even in their glorious times, churches were powerful but Jesus was dying out of their life. Are we interested in a powerful church or a powerful faith? Do we want a church that is wealthy enough not to say “I have no silver and gold” or a church powerful enough to say “Stand up and walk in the name of the lord”? People who work for powerful faith destroy Rome from inside not by killing but by dying. People with powerful churches, but without faith, end up being the footstool of the world as the Roman Catholic Church. Now the world is over their head, and they are becoming more worldly to win the world by worldly means.

 

You have endless theories and ideas. It is good to have ideas, but what is their fruit? When the church was/is dying, can those theories and ideas save the church? If I take your idea and work with it in the West can I restore faith in the West? If those ideas kill your mother in the West and now in the Far East too, why are you experimenting with your poison on us? What is the fruit of our approach? It is seen in Paul, Peter, and John who built it all, and in Horn African history of the faith. This is the right way, not only according to the bible but also the history of our faith in Horn Africa. If our faith is wavering, it is because we import you and now we want to vomit you out, dears.   

 

The Western world is with dying faith, and yet they have theories about success. If they have a good theory, they also have a Western world with dying faith. That is why they should go and rebuild the faith of the West to teach us the strength of their theory and theology. They have a theory, but it does not work on their big farm. Look at the faith of the world, and it is not in good shape. The good question is: are we growing toward Western and Eastern theology of the faith or the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ, by the grace of the Holy Spirit? If the church which is built in the West and now in the East is falling, it is because it is not built on foundation stone, on Jesus. Dears, please drink the blood of the lord and eat the flesh of the lord, because nobody comes to the Heavenly Father without Jesus. If you grow in the past, it is because of Jesus; if you fade away now, it is because you are not built on the foundation stone, Jesus. The Axe is for those who do not produce fruit, and those who produce fruit are those who are connected with the lord. If you are axed, dears, stop talking and start learning.

 

We are selling the authentic Jesus to the world, for free. They teach us to work for food that never lasts and for power that corrupts, we are giving them eternal food for free so they can have a servant attitude, humble attitude, kind attitude, altruistic attitude, carrying attitude, and Jesus’s attitude. Whether our theology schools are building us toward Jesus and his ways, which are lived and preached by Jesus and his disciples, or to those servants of the lord in the West, whose work was not built on the foundation stone, is an important distinction. Jesus and his soldiers destroyed Roman civilization from the inside not by killing but dying. Those new soldiers of the Lord in the West, however, are destroyed by the world, which offers them the world to rule and enjoy. They buy the world and its glory by losing the purity of their faith, and now the world is hunting them after they lose their social and religious power by being worldly. What is funny is they want us to be made in their image. Dears, we plan to heal you not die with you. If we must learn, let us learn from winners, not the losers. The way to win the world is by leaving the world behind to grow toward the lord. Our faith is not the faith of politics, business, education, marriage, social life, and soon. It is the faith of dying in the flesh to be reborn in the spirit in the image of Jesus to be guided by the spirit, the Holy Spirit, rather than our flesh.

   

It is not that we should be now out of politics, business, education, marriage, social life, and soon. Even if I take politics out of my mind, I do stick with my family and its affairs too. I will be working 70% of the time for my family, 25% for me, and 5% for God. Why? Because I am not right. It would be perfect if I were 100% servant of the lord without complication of family or human business, like Paul and Jesus, but I am not that perfect. I know who is perfect, but I am not as mature as Paul. What I preach, therefore, could not be me but Paul and Jesus. The problem with Western theology is they teach us themselves to make us in their image.  

 

We are not politicians with religion, but faithful who have political interests. Our core identity is our faith and all our behavior is guided by our faith. Our political ideas and ways will be built by our faith too. But this is an imperfection that we follow because of our weak flesh and because our faith is poorly developed. A fool may think that predicting the result of a random draw is political wisdom, but the Prophet who anointed him does know that Saul is the king by choice of God but not by random draw. The random lottery is a joke of the flesh so the powerful man can easily agree on the outcome, but the outcome is determined by God in advance.     

     

You may say I need a leader who is pro-church, not anti-church, and you may say, in your ignorance, we have to be organized, mobilized, and become more like Earth to win politics for the church. Dear, I am surprised you are the leaders of the faith and don’t know kings and queens are anointed by God. Besides, you have the phone number to God, a personal phone number for that, why are you shouting in the street like an earthly man than praying toward God, therefore? The most ideal would be if you could leave politics aside by faith, but there are many things we don’t leave behind and politics is one of them. The next ideal thing to be is to be a faithful politician, by showing the light and salt in you to people around you. The faith is the center, and you as part of the world are the periphery of the faith. Our faith is not built around your politics, but your politics will be built around our faith, as our periphery and imperfection. Otherwise, we don’t know you. We are from heaven with full citizenship of heaven and we cannot be united in wrong ways with nonbelievers due to your politics, dears. If you find this to be a baseless idealism, dear it is because you are bone and flesh only, but we are spiritual beings who are on the right side of the lord in heaven now. A prophet who knows that those with us are mightier than those with the world was the fire shield of the kingdom, including the king, than hiding behind kings and queens.   

 

Some of us love business and we like to do business. That is not the best life for the faithful. The best faithful is the one who gives it all to serve the lord. Why? Because Jesus said so, and I am sorry if I take Jesus seriously, as he is my God dears. This means you will not be Angel Michael in heaven but one of the angels of God. What we chose is not a bad deal, although if we were smart we would work for the seat of Angel Michael. The angels in heaven have fixed positions by grace, we have competition for higher seats. If we are smart, we would give it all to compete with Peter, Paul, and John for higher positions. After all, it is written many who come last will be first. Many of this age, therefore, will have the privilege to be among the top angels of God. Yet, we are stupid enough to be earthly, even too earthly for faithful. It is one thing to be stupid that we are, and it is another thing to teach our stupidity as perfection.

Our perfection is Jesus. Jesus was not running a business or family, but working 24/7 for the kingdom of heaven without a home to lay his head on. He was even marching in front of everyone toward Jerusalem to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus is perfection, not us. That is why Paul, Peter, John, and James (the great) are our Angel Michaels and Angel Garbles, not us. Why? Because, they are more like Jesus than us and we should teach them and their ways as examples of the lord, so we can stand on their shoulder to reach further toward the lord. It is a sin to teach our earthly ways as perfection, therefore.            

 

So being a businessman is not the best choice a faithful should make. The real faithful will be like Paul and like our elders of the faith in Horn Africa. Yet, because we are not perfect, it does not mean we are lost, as this is the age of grace. None of us are good enough but we are saved by grace. If our best choice is wrong, at least we have to make the second-best choice. The second best choice is to be faithful first and businessman next. All our identity, behavior, manner, and thinking will be molded by our faith and we will be light and salt to those around us. We have to be holy businessmen, good businessmen, and just businessmen, and that is to be on the periphery of our faith. The center of our faith is Jesus and his imitators, like the lord with his archangels in heaven, while we are among the angels around his throne giving honor to the lord. There is no faith of business or capitalist faith; there are only faithful business persons who serve by giving after they serve as light and salt to business persons and workers around them. Our faith should affirm Jesus not us, we are the periphery of the faith while those who imitate Jesus by giving the world up are the center of our faith.  

 

What about family, marriage, children, and other worldly affairs? If we were perfect, we would have single-mindedness to serve the lord without any family complications. Why? Because Paul said so, and I am sure we take Paul seriously. I hope, though, that we should take Jesus seriously too. Is it too much to ask dears? Going back to the main point, however, the main point is not that marriage is wrong, actually, it is the first gift of God to Adam to make him happy and fruitful, but it is about having undivided attention toward the service of God. It is not about leaving wife and children behind to serve in church bureaucracy, no it is about being ready to go anywhere and to accept any danger and poverty for the gospel with a single mind in service of the lord. Family will complicate things and that is why Paul said no to family, because he wants the top rank in heaven. We are not smart enough like Paul, but that does not mean, however, we, the less perfect, are worthless as we are worthy by grace. Remember billions are dying into eternal hell without faith, and we are raising children, building homes, and accumulating wealth than saving brothers and sisters from hell fire. Millions are starving, we are buying toys for our children. We are not the right one, but still, we can be saved by grace. That is possible if we are first faithful and then after family man. Our family should be an extension of our faith, not the center of our faith. We should be light and salt of the lord to shine the light of the lord in our family and to people around our family, but our faith does not circulate in our family and its welfare. Our family should circulate in our faith.

 

That is why it is reasonable, as we are foolish enough to have earthly desires for political power, wealth, family, and soon than the wisdom of investing all our life in service of the lord, that we should not preach our foolishness but Jesus as the wisdom of God, and we should preach the fact that all of us should grow toward him over time. From this angle politics, business, nationality, ethnicity, and even our family cannot be the center of our faith. For 24/7, the word in our mouth should be the word of God, the life we live should be holy, the love that we show should be unconditional, and the life we grow to should be the life of the lord. In this process, we may have political luggage that we did not drop behind us because we have faith in what is the visible, political moment, than the invisible, power of the Heavenly Father. In our politics and our lives, however, what people see should be Jesus not children of the devil. Even opponents have to see we are not from this earth but from heaven. We have to be holy, kind, innocent, selfless, unconditional lovers of enemies and friends, and image of Jesus in politics and slowly you will see politics is not for you. Is this the kind of politics we are interested in? I doubt it.

 

Many noble and wealthy Romans lost their wealth due to their faith. Many faithful of the Roman time were given to lions, boiled in oil, crucified, burned alive, and beheaded for the faith. A fool of our age, with a theology degree, will think that the faithful need an army and political power to build the Roman Catholic Church or the Church of England. The real faithful, however, preach the pure word of God without adultery following the footsteps of Jesus, Paul, Peter, John, and other disciples. Where are we going? To the Roman Catholic Church of the Dark Ages, Western protestant churches of this age, Ethiopian Orthodox Church, or toward giants of our faith in the first few centuries? You will know where to go by looking at their fruit. 

 

I am not saying leave politics aside today and give your wealth to the poor now, because all is a spiritual growth process. I am not saying leave your business behind to serve God today, because your heart is not in it. I am not saying be heavenly today, because your flesh is not dead yet and you are not fully reborn in the image of Jesus. I may be even worse than you, in many lines that I am trying to advise you to get right. What I am saying is we should know that we are spiritual beings and over time our spirit has to take over our flesh. Over time our citizenship should grow toward heaven rather than earth. Bone and flesh can't delight God and earthly man cannot delight God. Our spirit which has to be reborn in the image of the lord is what delights God and our body is the temple of that spirit that leads us to God, the Holy Spirit. So, let us let our born-again spirit lead our flesh to heaven rather than letting our flesh lead our spirit to hell fire.

   

Many fools from theology schools do say that we should look toward the world to know our future. They say let us look to the churches of the world to choose our path of faith like this is an economic policy that we borrow from Singapore to hide our poor from the street. Our ideal temple is in heaven, so we look up to know our future. Our standard is not Kenya, America, South Korea, or your theology, dear, Jesus is. We cannot be comforted on our failures, by observing the failures of other churches around the world. Besides, as a blind cannot lead blind, there is no church in the world that we imitate to follow, only more grown-up assemblies that can guide us in the way of imitating Jesus. We grow toward those who are better than us, then we leave them behind and we grow farther toward Jesus, and Jesus is our limit. How is it possible? For faithful all is possible with the power of the Holy Spirit. By the spirit of God, but not by our might or power, the temple of the lord is going to be rebuilt. The bride of the lord is going to be prepared blameless and beautiful to be presented to the Heavenly Father. It is possible because nothing shall be impossible to God.

 

You the firstborn of the lord, the good sons for that, don’t believe this; though it is the pure gospel preached and lived by the disciples of the lord. You are the first to say “yes Father” after reading the bible and accepting the lord as lord, yet you want the lord of your desire rather than being consistent with the desire of the lord. We the prostitutes, sinners, tax collectors, and downcasts of this sinful world, who know there is no glory in the world and way of this world, however, do not doubt that the commandment of the lord is holy and perfect. We are from the world to be deceived by its glitter after we saw the real gold of God, the lord Jesus Christ. The angels of God, however, never stop falling to the glitter of the world so they can be worshiped as gods of this earth rather than worshiping the true God in heaven. You can give powers to the women of men who will take you as lord to worship you, and you think they are beautiful worshipers that you want to marry. But I assure you, you will produce nothing but sin in the assembly of the lord and the world, and you will be cast out as fallen angels, as a result.
