Dominance vs. Evangelism (Edited by ChatGPT)

Someone claimed that even in places where the faithful are the majority, they still do not control society. Instead, it is minorities — strategically positioned — who shape the direction of that society. He dismissed the idea that evangelism transforms society as a fairytale. For him, the better strategy is to place the "right" believers in positions of power to dominate society and lead it according to the values of the faithful.

This idea is not only wrong; it is a house built on sand — children’s sandcastles on the shifting beach. It is an idea fit for children, not for the mature. Our primary purpose in faith is evangelism: first to save souls, and then to grow faithful in the image of Jesus, preparing the bride for the groom, who may come at any moment.

Jesus did not just save us — He died for us. Paul did not just lay our foundation on the rock, Jesus Christ, he also completed what was lacking in the Lord’s sufferings by establishing His body, the Church. Faith does not grow merely through the efforts of those who plant and water, but through the continuous and invisible work of the heavenly Father who gives growth. At some point, that small faith becomes a great tree, offering shade to all — even to the birds of the sky and the beasts of the field.

As faith grows and begins to shape institutions, it transforms minds, people, and ultimately society. All structures — market, state, civil society, education, entertainment, the arts, the family, and more — become touched by it. If an idea or institution is contrary to the heart and mind of the people, no government or elite can force it into lasting effect. But when an idea lives in the collective will of a society, even a tyrant’s land cannot silence it. It will find expression.

So why is the USA not led by Christian values? The answer lies not in politics but in people: Are they truly faithful by Jesus’s standard? Not just nominal believers or members of dying traditions bearing the Christian tag, but even the best among them — those considered the most devout — are sometimes thrones and trestles, beautiful in appearance but hollow within. Like their spiritual ancestors, the religious leaders of Israel, many are abortions of the faith. Whatever good you now see was planted by the faithful of old, and whatever evil exists was planted by ancient evildoers. What do you expect from a spiritual abortion? Only more death. If Paul saw today’s Church, would he recognize you as true believers? The fruit reveals the seed. If the fruit is evil, it is because evil seeds were sown.

Where is Jesus? Where is Paul? Where is the purity of the faith? What we often find is not the faith of Christ or Paul, but an Americanized version of it. And what comes out of that version is American power and social structure — not a nation shaped by the Spirit. After polluting the well with foreign waters, we demand all the poison and none of the heavenly purity. See how far we have fallen from grace.

The notion of dominating society from the top without first building the spiritual foundation is not only foolish by worldly standards, but it is also unbiblical — and presumes we are wiser than Jesus Himself. Why did He spend time with drunkards, sinners, and tax collectors? Why did not He just evangelize a few Roman nobles to take over Rome? Because transformation begins at the root, not the crown.

Even if your goal were to dominate, you would not begin with power — you would begin with service. You would humble yourself, adopt the mindset of a servant, and slowly build credibility. But even then, another fox in sheep’s clothing would soon replace you, playing the same game.

Faith is not easy. It requires labor, patience, and sacrifice. But once planted, it grips both heart and society, shaping them according to the will of God. If you are wise, focus on the dominance of God’s Word in hearts and minds — not the dominance of groups or ideologies. God’s eternal Word is infallible and worthy to reign — not man-made theologies or institutions, which are just that: man-made.

Someone once asked, “How many soldiers does the Pope have?” If the Pope’s only means of influence is political games and power plays, then he is like a hanged man fighting the rope around his neck — every move only hastens the end. Wisdom is knowing we are never wiser than Jesus. Our problem is that we love a version of Jesus who affirms us more than the real Jesus we are called to follow. Guided by delusions, we build societies of abomination, stamp a Christian label on them, and then expect the label to sanctify what is rotten.

We have become like the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, shouting for fire that never comes. But if you turn to Jesus, He will send fire from heaven — because He is Lord. Be faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ by His standard — not by national or denominational standards. There is no “Jesus of America.” There is only the Jesus of heaven. So be saints of heaven, remade in His image. Then everything else will be added unto you.
